Our comprehensive therapy concept makes long-lasting success possible
To reach optimal therapy effectiveness, we combine various treatment techniques. The result: Fast recovery and return to your normal capabilities and performance. We rely on many years of experience in rehabilitating acute and chronic spine and joint problems.
To determine which form(s) of therapy are necessary:
- Physical Therapy is recommended to provide lasting relief from pain and functional deficits of the muscular skeletal system.
- Manual Therapy is the treatment of choice when specific movement restrictions of the spine or extremities are present.
- Classical Massage and Lymph Drainage help to break up tightness and spasm, to help reduce swelling, and to alleviate pain.
- As soon as possible, we try to employ active therapy measures in combination with the passive methods described above. These may include strength training, coordination training, instruction in self-mobilization and self-relieving pain measures, posture training, gait training, and instruction in ergonomic factors which may affect your condition. Addressing these factors allows for a long term solution.
- Medical Training Therapy and Extended Ambulant Rehabilitation (EAP) may play an important roll in your recovery. These therapy forms allow you to build your strength and to improve you coordination in a more intensive way than is possible during a single physical therapy visit. Based on your actual abilities and personal goals, you will receive and be guided through an individual training plan. With this training, we can help you to return to your normal life as soon as possible.
Following an operation or injury, early intervention with therapy is recommended. The goal is to reduce strength, coordination and motion loss which often accompanies immobility. Early intervention can also help to speed up the healing process.
It is also important during this early rehab phase to not overload the healing tissues during everyday life activities. To guide you along your way, please refer to our illustrated patient instruction sheets found on this web site under the heading Service.
In the early healings phase (acute phase), the recovering tissue has limited stability, and is therefore very sensitive to overloading. Depending on the type of surgery, extent of the injury and individual patient characteristics, this can take days to weeks. Well-dosed, specific therapy is recommended during this time, with the utmost care taken to prevent any new injury to the area. Later in the healing phase, when the injured tissues have stabilized, a more intensive therapy is allowed. During this time, the goals are to restore the full motion and to enable the patient to return to the physical stresses of every day life. The demands during therapy and with home exercises will be steadily increased until you have returned to your job and are able to play desired sports.
At Reha in der Atos, we not only hire well-educated therapists, we also continue to develop their skills with regular continuing education seminars.
We would enjoy the opportunity to help you overcome your limitations.
